The VFL is a pocket sized Fibre Optic Cable tester and visual fault locator, which sends a visible red laser down the fibre core. The laser operates at 635nm and is suitable for the verification of Multimode and Single mode fibre optic systems.
VFL can also be used to visually identify faulty splices; breaks in patchcords and breaks in cable within splice trays. Faults are clearly shown by a visible red light shining through the primary coating or sheath of the fibre under test.
VFL supports 2 active modes, CW (Continuous Wave) and Pulse. Using a 635nm laser diode, this Class IIa visible safe laser injects almost twice the amount of optical power than traditional 670nm devices.
This offers greater test distance and easier identification of cable impairments and the 2.5mm ferrule will accept any of today's standard ferrules.
